This week, my "treasure" is this nativity set. I know it doesn't look like much, but it is my absolute favorite Christmas decoration. My dad was going to throw it away when he got his new one, but I wanted it. It is so simple, I think that is why I love it so much. The manger is cardboard. It has a few tears in it, so I am very careful when I get it out. It has become even more special since my dad passed away last year. I didn't realize how much dusty it actually was. That darn camera doesn't know it is supposed to edit out the dust.

your nativity...is truly a representative of seeing beyond...
ReplyDeletefor doesn't really relay what humble settings He called home?
A fine treasure to be sure.
Good morning...this is my first visit, I'm coming over from Diane's. What an unusual Nativity set this is and the sentiment behind it makes it really special.

Hi, This is my first visit.
ReplyDeleteI can see why this is your favorite. I collect nativities, and I have one that was trash for a family member. So we have something in common. Please come visit.
I love this! I think it is a real treasure!

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of Trash to Treasure!
I don't blame you for rescuing this nativity. The memories you have of your dad and this nativity are so priceless.

G'day from Australia. I came here from Quintessential Magpie. Don't edit out anything in a photo - always go for the genuine look.
ReplyDeleteThat's a special manger.
What a sweet little nativity. I can see why it's a favourite. I love your blog header collage!
