Weight Loss...

Well my friends, this week's weight loss is 2.6 pounds for a total of 28.4! Mixed emotions. On the one hand I am feeling great, but then on the other hand, when are my clothes going to fall off!

A Few Thriftin' Finds

I thought I would post a few of my thrift store finds. When I say a few, I mean very few. I'm tellin' you this thrifting is getting harder and harder. It seems I haven't really found anything very good lately. I found the two pieces of ticking at the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store. The vintage notions came from Goodwill. I hit about 7 of my local thrift stores and that's all folks!

Kitchen Pantry

Most of this weekend I have been dreaming of a walk in pantry for my kitchen. Recently we gutted the bathroom off of one of the bedrooms upstairs. I have been hashing some things around in my mind. First I thought I wanted my laundry room upstairs. But then, that doesn't really make sense, I have a nice big laundry room downstairs. I can walk up and down the stairs, it won't kill me. But then it came to me, a pantry. Ahhh, this would be so nice...

Dreaming of Warm Weather

Come May, I will probably regret saying this, but man I wish it were warmer.
Ahh, the beach in Maui, how I miss you. Not much happening here. Sitting with my mother during the day while she is recuperating from back surgery. No time for crafting here. Although I have snuck in a few trips to the thrift store on my way into town. A couple of good finds, I will try to post some pictures later. This week's weight loss 1.8 pounds for a total of 25.8 since October 21st. Just about 45 pounds to go!

Trying to be Creative...

I am always full of ideas when I come back from Market. Trouble is, I don't seem to follow through. We always antique on the way down and back, that's when we have the most fun. My stuff is still in my boss' trunk, so I don't have any pictures yet.

The greyhound adoption group that I work with has an annual picnic that is our biggest fundraiser. So this year, I have decided that I am going to be a vendor. It seems like there is never enough cool stuff to buy! Here are a few of my ideas. Signs, I have seen some cool saying on signs lately, surely I can do that. I also have a pretty good collection of old black and white greyhound photos that I can be creative with, pillows, photo collages, etc. I also purchased some hand printed greyhound fabric a couple of years ago, that sounds good for tote bags, maybe a purse and surely a big quilt for the auction. Well, for today I am going into the sewing room and do a major overhaul. I made a total mess in there over Christmas.
Some more good news, my buddy Dave pictured below is getting his forever home! He has been with us since May 20, 2009. Way to go Dave! Oh yeah, not so good news on the weight loss this week. Market killed me and I gained 4 pounds. YUCK, but I already got 2 of that off, so I am ready to get back to normal again.

I'm Home!

Just got back around 8:30 p.m. tonight from Atlanta. I went with my boss to the Gift Mart for 5 days. Talk about exhausting. YIKES!!! And the diet sucked while I was away. Stuck in these high rise buildings and no decent food. I am totally bummed about that. I also know why I don't like big city living anymore. I love my small town. But we did find some neat stuff for the shop! Plus some cool greyhound themed merchandise!

Happy New Year Bloggin' Friends

Well I hope you all made some realistic resolutions. I have lots of things I would like to accomplish this year. As far as resolutions, the only one I made was that I was going to be re-evaluating some things in my life. My whole life, it has been about everyone else. When I was younger, I always wanted to please my parents. When I became a parent, it became all about my kids. So now my dear friends it is all about ME, well within reason.

Dieting is making me feel better, not only physically, but mentally. I am down 23 pounds since October 21st. I also met my biggest goal of being under 200 pounds by the end of 2009. I can't believe I just put that out there.

Also, like a lot of my friends, I take my job way too seriously. Does it pay off? Not really. So I am going to try to "leave it all at the door" when I leave at night. Thinking about taking some classes too. Man that makes me nervous. I have been out of school for 32 years. YIKES!!! Anyway, I hope all my friends have a great New Year!
