Skunk!

Well much to my surprise this morning around 4 a.m. I woke up to the most horrendous smell ever. I had let the dogs out and about 5 minutes after they were back in the house, the smell drifted to my nostrils. I sniffed the dogs to see if it was them, but all I could smell was the skunk smell. I looked around outside and saw nothing. But the smell said differently. Normally if the dogs see something, they want back outside, but not this time. So I went back to sleep, with a hankie over my nose so I couldn't smell anything. Got up this morning and it seemed better. So off I go to run my errands. Come back a couple hours later and open the front door and wham-o, there is the smell again. So I am starting to think it is under the porch or the shed or inside the box around the chimney. It has to be somewhere for it to smell like this. I am almost sick to my stomach and have a horrible headache. Went to Wal-Mart to purchase peroxide, baking soda and other things I found online for remedies. As soon as hubby gets home, we get to bathe 4 dogs. Wish me luck! If these remedies work I will post the recipes. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave me a comment.

  1. My Mom's dog got skunked last summer. She did the tomato juice bath... that helped little... took her to the groomers... that helped little... what finally worked was a product called "Skunk Out". It is sold at pet stores. Took a couple of sprays of that, but it finally tamed the stinker! LOL! Taking care of 4 skunked dogs is going to be very tiresome for you...
