I'm Back!

My friends, I have survived without power for 5 days. That's right 5 days. We lost power Tuesday during a terrible ice storm that we had here in Southern Indiana. Luckily we have 2 gas fireplaces and were able to keep the house from 55-60 degrees. Unfortunately, this morning one of our pipes burst. Thank God I was scrapbooking and went to my sewing room and get a pair of scissors and found the floor wet. But my nice organized sewing room is now in utter chaos. Wet fabric, ruined books and magazines. I hope my machines are okay. We couldn't have the company come out to remove the water until power was restored. This was by far the most challenging week I have had in a long time. I do have some pictures, I will post later. Too much to do right now!

  1. Ms. Hare... I am SO glad you're okay. I thought we were going to have to send search and rescue out for you. I had a horrible feeling something like that had happened.

I'm sorry about your sewing room and hope all is going to be well there. Please stay safe and warm. We miss you, but we'll see you when you get everything pulled back together. I've only been in one ice storm, and it wasn't fun at all.

    Sending warm wishes your way...

    Xo,

  2. So glad your power is back. Oh no not a busted line.

Dec. 2007 we went 6 days without water .. busted water line, Christmas/NewYear holiday and I guess every plumber was busy. Just a few months ago our hot water tank sprung a leak ... water everywhere.

Hope someone can get out to your house soon.

  3. That's awful! I'm so glad you survived. Hope you are able to get your sewing room dried out and up and sewing again soon. Spring it coming. Soon the sun will shine, days will get warmer, the bulbs will push there way to the sun and bloom their smiling faces. Praying for no more disasters for you.
