Here is one my favorite thrift store finds. My daughter spied this colander at the thrift store and said "is this what you are looking for mom?" Oh yeah, that's my girl! The star design was
unique. This one was going home with me.
The sedum that I planted in it is called Coral Carpet. At $3.99, the sedum cost way more than the colander. I snatched it up for fifty cents. This sedum, "sedum album" is hardy to -10 degrees. If I don't kill it this summer, it should be around for a long time.

Neat!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
it looks great!! i sold a few of those old colanders at a yard sale. wish i would have thought of using them like that.
ReplyDeletethat's neat! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a patch of that sedum...YOU WILL NOT KILL IT!! LOL...i started out with a little tiny piece that was actually growing in with another plant my great aunt gave me, and now you should see it! I have an old moss covered log laying by it and it's creeping on to that too...I love it! I don't like the blooms tho...I always cut it back when it blooms.
Have a great holiday weekend.
