Block of the Month

This year I am participating in a Block of the Month at The Village Mercantile. I wasn't sure how I would feel about only doing one block each month. Normally when I get on a roll, I want to finish something. We meet on the first Saturday of each month and the starting fee was $5.00. Bring your completed block the next month and you get the next month's block free. It is possible to have all twelve blocks done by the end of the year and you only pay $5.00. So far, I have been able to get my block done each month. These are all Civil War Fabrics.

  1. Nice fabric! Peggy and I did the BOM at Village Mercantile years ago...I have my blocks...just not a quilt. I'd better get on that!

  2. I think this is a great idea. I love quilts, and I keep thinking that I need to take up quilting. It would help if I could really sew, but you've got to start somewhere, right?

You really did a nice job with your blocks, and I like your fabrics. I can't wait to see all of them when you finish! :-)

  3. It looks like you are well on your way to creating a family heirloom....for a bargain price!! My mom was a great quilter...she made one for each of her grand kids...and her own three children. I treasure mine!

It was so nice to visit you again!!! dana
