Some thoughts for the week

Do you ever wonder, what our purpose on this earth is? Events happening the past couple of weeks, have me thinking.

A good friend is diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. Within a 2 week time span, she has already began chemotherapy. Telling her children, friends, etc. Preparing herself for the battle. Purchasing a wig in anticipation of hair loss. Giving up a semester as a pre-school teacher .

Secondly, a young mother and team mate to my daughter on Demolition City Roller Derby Team. This recently nominated "nurse of the year" for Deaconess hospital, diagnosed with a brain tumor. Helping save other lives, now fighting for her own.

Thirdly, my youngest daughter's boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, whatever he is right now. He finds out his father has colon cancer. Not too clear on those details, but playing the waiting game for now.

Are we paying the price for all the modern conveniences? Does progress have a price, if so, I'm not sure I want to pay it. Some things to think about. Pray for my friends.

  1. Sounds like you have had a pretty rough week. Even having one person close to you fight a battle like this would be hard, but three!
I'll remember them and you in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Oh, my how awful bad news comes in threes.

Your friends sound like they are very strong women, and have the determination to make it through!

Best wishes for all of them.
